Laws of the Land
• Safety first! All weapons must be checked and deemed safe before they are allowed on the field. Persons violating this law by sneaking unchecked weapons on to the field will be asked to leave.
• During daytime, the fighting events are the main focus. On the field the Manual of Arms and the Heralds are in charge. Off the field the Dominion Nobility and the Courtesy Patrol are in charge.
• Do not argue with a Herald under any circumstances or for any reason.
Heralds can, on occasion, make a bad call. That’s life, or death, in some cases. Discuss it afterwards.
• We do not use the euphemism “rhino-hiding.” Deliberate refusal to
Acknowledge a blow is cheating! Cheating ruins the fun for fellow Dagorhir fighters! Cheaters will be told to sit out on the first offense. On the second clearly confirmed instance, a cheater will be barred from taking the field for the remainder of the day. We understand that mistakes and misunderstandings occur. That is different, as we all know.
• When Heralds are addressing battle participants, DO NOT TALK. It distracts your fellow fighters from hearing pertinent information, slows the game down for everyone, and prevents you from hearing necessary information. This may prevent you from obeying the rules if you do not understand them clearly. Not following the rules is called cheating!
• When you die, fall over dead. Don’t stand there. Don’t walk away. Die!
• NO WHINING. Whiners will be fed to the Myrkridian Infantry.
• Do not call other people’s shots, except archery and thrown javelins.
• Never argue on the field. If you have time to argue, you must be dead.
• Rules lawyers will be fed to the Army of Mordor.
• Water is life. Don’t forget to drink lots of water. Don’t dehydrate, Prehydrate! Alcohol dehydrates you; if you drink alcohol, follow it up with lots of water.
• Bring any prescription medications you may need with you but please make arrangements to keep them cool and dry. Carry emergency medications with you at all times. This includes inhalers or anaphylaxis self-injectors (“bee-sting kits”). On the field they can be duct taped to your shield. The medicines need to be “on you” when you need them.
• Courtesy Patrol. The Courtesy Patrol is there to make sure every one is having fun and it is being done safely. They will also be checking for event tags,
• Everyone must wear a event tag. If you loss your tag, take your ID to troll and get a new one. Your tag is your proof that you have paid for the event and more importantly signed a waiver. Please note you will not be allowed passed troll without your tag.
• Always ‘hail’ a camp before walking into it.
• DO NOT touch anyone else’s property at any time or under any circumstances with out their expressed permission. Tents are personal, private property. No one may enter anyone else’s tent without explicit permission from the owner.
• Dagorhir has a zero tolerance policy for underage drinking and illegal drug use. Wristbands will be given out at Troll when you check in. If a wristband is lost, you must present your I.D. at Troll for a new one. The legal age to participate in a Dagorhir event is 16. But state, local and federal laws, including those that dictate the age of consent, always take precedence.
• Service your fire pits. Make sure it is big enough to contain the fire and keep all flammables away.
• Live Steel, (real steel weapons,)
· Live Steel is not permitted on or near the battlefield. These are great costume items, but for safety reasons they are prohibited on or near the field.
· All Live Steel must be peace bound. If you don’t know what this means we will be more than happy to explain. Troll and the Courtesy Patrol will be providing the cord needed to peace bond the weapon.
· You must be 18 years old or older to carry live Steel.
• Units and Realms please take care of your own and all of us in general. Help those who have had a little too much back to camp and such.
• Cars are NOT allowed to park in campsites they must be parked in the designated area.
• Cars may be allowed at the campsites only to drop off gear and must leave immediately after unloading. Only 5 cars will be allowed beyond troll at one time. Please unload/load quickly so the next people can go back to unload/load.
• Play nice on and off the field and we will all have a great time.
Notes:
• The area just beyond Kings Landing will be used for the Woods Battle, except occupied campsites. Anyone in the woods during the woods battle needs to beware of fighters. If you plan to stay beyond the Kings Landing you should be wearing a yellow tabard or be prepared to fight.
• Please keep fighting away from bystanders and off the sidelines of the battlefield. We don’t want non-combat participants accidentally hit.
Before you leave:
• Camp Master must check out with Dominion Nobility at Troll before you leave. Please make sure you have done the following going to check out.
• Campfires must be out and covered.
• Campsite must be free of Trash.
• Trash needs to be placed in the trash dumpster.
