Home      Weapons Check Info

Just to remind everyone, because I know we have groups from other organizations who will be attending, we will be following the Weapons Checking guidelines as listed Here. The only addendum to this ruleset, is that cleats were officially put onto the list of explicitly banned equipment at Rag XXI and it wasn't included by an oversight. So understand that too - will be enforced.

There will be two "head" Weapons Checkers this year, one for melee & armor, and one for flight. Head checkers will be designated by a special tabard (pictures of said tabard are forthcoming). They will be in charge of overseeing the weapons checking process for their respective areas, and will also be the head of appeals and rules clarifications. If you feel your weapon or armor has been failed incorrectly, you can approach the head checker of the appropriate area. Head Weapons Checkers word is law. Weapons that have been failed by the Heads of Weapons Check will not be eligible for appeal a second time.

Please direct any questions to Krystal, so that we can post any preemptive rules clarifications here on the website for everyone to benefit from.
Example: Last event, there was a questionable flail. The flail measured 16" on one axis, but failed to meet the 16" requirement on the 2nd axis. One weapons checker said that the flail failed, one said that the flail passed. What is the correct ruling?
Answer: According to the most up to date Dagorhir rule set, 4.2.4.1. The ball of a flail must have a minimum circumference of 16 inches (measured at its narrowest point) and weigh a minimum weight of 4 oz. This indicates that the smallest portion of the flail can be no less than 16" in circumference.
Please make sure your weapons all adhere to the Dagorhir standard ruleset before coming to Gates, to make sure we're all in for a great time!
